Heather Locklear's Plastic Surgeon Ex Sentenced To A Year In Prison For Tax Fraud

Heather Locklear and Courtney Stodden’s former flame and plastic surgeon to the stars, Marc Edward Mani, was sentenced to a year in federal prison for hiding $1.3 million in a foreign account in Dubai, according to prosecutors.
United States District Judge R. Gary Klausner sentenced Mani, 50, on September 17, 2018 to one year and one day in federal prison for failing to file a foreign bank and financial account report. Federal prosecutors said Mani hid the money he earned while working in Dubai, where he performed plastic surgeries.
Authorities said Mani’s accountant told the famed Hollywood surgeon that he must report his earnings and any foreign bank accounts that he possessed. Mani opened an account in 2012 with a Dubai-based bank and started depositing income he earned abroad into that account, officials said.
The doctor then liquidated the account on 2013 when it held more than $400,000 in foreign currency. By law, U.S. Citizens are required to report foreign financial assets over $10,000 to the U.S. Department of Treasury each year the account exists.
