Good fences don't always make good neighbors. RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively The Voice coach Adam Levine and Paul "Pee-wee Herman" Reubens are still in a bitter feud after a neighborly dispute nearly a decade ago, during the rockers more raucous days.
"Paul had to move from his Hollywood Hills home because of the noise level coming from Adam's house next door," an insider told RadarOnline.com. "Adam admits he liked to have a lot of late night parties and blow off steam with his buddies after band rehearsal back when he was single."
Complaining to Levine and his domestic staff did no good, and eventually, the non-stop noise became too much for Pee-wee, who hopped on his bike and pedaled away from his Hollywood home for good.
Now, years after moving, the two still refuse to bury the hatchet.
"They've never made up and it's still awkward because they consciously avoid each other at events," the insider added. "They have mutual friends Judd Apatow, Joe Manganiello who are always pushing for a peace summit."
Friends would like to see the one-time neighbors patch things up, but Reubens apparently has no love lost for the singer.
"Paul does have a bit of a 'me against the world' complex and he's the one holding this grudge - he loved living in that house and feels that Adam drove him from the neighborhood," the insider revealed. "Adam just thinks the whole thing is ridiculous and just another example of Paul being self-sabotaging."
