Michael J. Fox Confesses Wild Drinking Binge After Parkinson's Disease Diagnosis
Oct. 4 2019, Updated 12:26 p.m. ET
Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1991. While the news was devastating for the then 30-year-old actor, it was his reaction to the news what truly took a toll on his marriage.
In a shocking interview with PEOPLE, the Back To The Future star admitted that he took to drinking soon after finding out about his health crisis.
"I was isolating myself from my family," admitted Fox, 57, who shared son Sam, 29, twin daughters Schuyler and Aquinnah, 23, and daughter Esmé, 16, with wife Tracy Pollan, 58.
While Fox tried to conceal his drinking habit from his wife, she eventually found out and made it clear that she was over it.
One night, after Pollan found Fox passed out on the ground following an all-night drinking binge, she gave him an ultimatum, and he finally cleaned up his act.
Today, the actor runs a foundation to collect money for Parkinson's research. He's raised almost $1 billion so far!
