Mel B Reaches Child Custody Settlement As Ex Rages 'She's A Liar!'

After three days of intense back-and-forth between their attorneys and a Los Angeles judge, Mel B and ex Stephen Belafonte have finally come to an agreement concerning custody of their daughter, RadarOnline.com can report exclusively.

The former couple also have agreed to drop their restraining orders against each other and have agreed to stay 200 yards away from one another.

Mel B, who was dressed in an off-shoulder slim fitting white dress, walked out of the courtroom quietly, while Belafonte exclaimed he felt like he was a “big winner” after the Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 hearing at Los Angeles Superior Court.

Meanwhile, Belafonte told RadarOnline.com exclusively he plans to address all Mel B’s allegations that he beat and abused her “in another public forum.” He said his attorneys had tried multiple times to obtain medical records of injuries Mel B suffered from his alleged beatings, but her attorneys fought the request.

“Why did she settle? She didn’t get anything out of this,” Belafonte said. "We split everything 50/50. In fact, my alimony and my child support is more then I had asked for. I was dragged through the mud, but she didn’t show her evidence. She told these lies every time. She got to level all of these allegations at me, played the victim before all the truth came out. She couldn’t, because everything she said, including saying that I beat her and put her in the hospital for eight days, is a lie."

“It's exactly what we were going to do before to all of the craziness,” Belafonte told RadarOnline.com exclusively after the hearing. “I feel like going to Disneyland and jumping for joy.”

Under the agreement, which was read out loud in court by Belafonte’s attorney, Grace Jamra, Mel B would have to pay Belafonte $5,000 in chid support for their daughter, five-year old Madison, every 15th of the month. Both have to make separate arrangements for parent-teacher conferences concerning Madison.

In the event they are "coincidentally or accidentally" are in the same place or area, “each party shall endeavor … to stay 200 yards away from the other,” Jamra said as she read the agreement in court.

The former couple also agreed to divide up their time with Madison, including holidays and school breaks. Mel B would have the child during Mother’s Day weekend, while Belafonte would get Father’s Day weekend.

Custody during Madison’s birthday will be alternated every year, with Mel B getting their daughter on even years. Each party will be allowed to travel outside the country with their daughter during their custodial time as long as they provide the itinerary to the other parent a week before the traveling.

As far as their home in Los Angeles, attorneys for both parties will hold $550,000 each in a trust to pay off the 2016 property taxes and manage any potential capital gains from the property. Both parties also will meet at a future date to finalize the total losses and tax liabilities on their restaurant venture, Serafina.
