Mob Boss Sammy Gravano Was A ‘Fascinating Man,’ Admits Investigator In New Crime Show

Investigator and crime journalist Colin McLaren spent three years following the mafia all over the world, particularly in New York, where he managed to follow and get to know six of the biggest mobsters of the era. Feared crime boss Sammy “the Bull” Gravano was one of them.

Now, McLaren is telling his fascinating story, and revealing his most shocking findings in REELZ’s new docuseries, Mafia Killers.

“We picked six notorious mobsters because of the color that they offer,” explains McLaren in the show teaser.

He ended up becoming close to the feared mobsters, all who were part of New York’s five crime families.

Gravano was eventually put away for four main murders, but of course, there were many other alleged crimes and killings that no one ever charged him for: scams, racketeering, etc.

McLaren describes the gangster as “an interesting man, a fascinating man.”

“You can work on the mafia like I did and you don’t have to hate them…You can actually get to see the complexity of these men and feel something interesting about them,” says the investigator, who is the first to admit that he became friends with the mob bosses before sending them to prison for the rest of their lives.

Mafia Killers: Sammy “The Bull” Gravano airs Wednesday, September 5 at 9ET / PT on REELZ.
