Lisa Marie Crushes 'Disappointed' Ex Husband In Nasty Divorce Case
Lisa Marie Presley’s estranged husband, Michael Lockwood, said he will take time to figure out his next legal move after a Los Angeles judge ruled a postnuptial agreement the former couple signed is valid, RadarOnline.com learned exclusively.
Under that 2017 agreement, both parties agreed neither will received spousal support or property from each other in the event their marriage should dissolve. Presley filed for divorce in June 2016 after 10 years of marriage. They have two twin 9-year-old daughters, Harper and Finley.
"Mr. Lockwood is disappointed and he is considering what his options are and what to do next,” said Lockwood’s attorney, Jeff Sturman, in an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com. "At this time, he has no further comment."
In her Aug. 17, 2018 ruling, Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman said, “Respondent (Lockwood) testified that he felt compelled to sign the agreement because Petitioner (Presley) was not a ‘take no’ kind of woman. That does not persuade the court that any undue influence … took place. Both parties testified the Petitioner did not threaten to divorce him or take any other action if he did not sign the agreement."
Sturman said Lockwood has several options to consider. Lockwood could wait until a final judgement is rendered on the entire divorce matter and then file an appeal.
Lockwood also could ask the trial court to certify the recent ruling concerning the postnuptial agreement so that he could file an appeal right away. The appellate process, however, usually takes anywhere from one to two years, Sturman said.
