Demi’s Mom Takes Control! Lovato Ordered To Complete Rehab & Take Random Drug Tests
Demi Lovato’s mom is calling the shots when it comes to the rehabbed singer’s recovery!
Prior to checking into an inpatient treatment center outside of L.A. this weekend, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that Dianna Hart, 55, demanded that her daughter agree to her rules or else.
A family friend told Radar, “Aside from ordering Demi to enter a rehab for a minimum of thirty days, Dianna also told Demi that she must have a sober coach for one year after she is released from treatment.” She is scheduled to stay for 90 days, a source previously told Radar.
“In addition, Dianna wants Demi to reestablish contact and fix the broken relationship with her old sober coach, Mike Bayer, as well as the people at Cast Recovery who were like family to her," the insider said.
“Demi will have to FaceTime with her mother every day after her rehab release and she also has to agree to take random drug tests at any given moment for the next several years,” the source told Radar.
But that’s not all! As previously reported, the 25-year-old “Sober” singer’s family believes that she was letting “toxic” people into her life prior to her overdose on July 25 at her home in Hollywood Hills, California.
At one point, Hart was even considering conservatorship to save Lovato’s life.
“Demi had to hand over her phone to her mom prior to going to rehab and Dianna is going through it with a fine tooth comb to cut out all the people who are a bad influence on her daughter," the insider said. "Dianna is deciding who can and can’t be in Demi’s life anymore. It is for her own good.”

Lovato was found unconscious in her home on July 24 after partying. She was treated with Narcan, which reverses the effects of a narcotic overdose.
She broke her silence on the hospitalization over the weekend with a statement that read, “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet…I will keep fighting.”
