Demi's Trainer Tells All On Final Hours Before OD: 'She Was Absent In Her Spirit'
Demi Lovato "wasn't herself" just one day before her overdose, according to her trainer who revealed to RadarOnline.com exclusively disturbing details of the final hours leading up to the singer's hospital nightmare.
Danielle Martin, who has helped train Lovato, 25, in Jiu Jitsu for two years, says she was with the singer on Monday.
"I'm devastated," Martin, 42, said. "I'm very close to her."
Crying during the exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, Martin reveals Lovato "just wasn't herself" and "something was absent in her spirit" in the days prior to the horrific incident.
The disheveled fitness guru revealed they had tentative plans to meet on Tuesday — the day of the OD. "On Monday, she asked me 'are we training tomorrow too?' So you can imagine how I feel when I found out about the overdose.”
Martin recalls Lovato hanging on by just a thread in the hours leading up to her horrific hospitalization. "She's not healthy, she's just alive,” she said, adding Lovato insisted she was "okay" and "just tired."
But the trainer didn't buy it. "I knew something was wrong. The last thing she told me was 'I love you so much.’"
She tells RadarOnline.com, Lovato would sometimes be a no-show to her scheduled sessions which would scare her into thinking the worst.
“I would ask myself what happened, where is she, she never showed. It's a very bad feeling. And then it actually happened."
As RadarOnline.com reported, Lovato partied with pals at the Saddle Ranch in Hollywood, drinking vodka sodas before she took the party back to her Hollywood Hills home where she would soon overdose.
The troubled singer relapsed on drugs and alcohol earlier this year after six years of sobriety and admitted the relapse in her new song, “Sober.”
Her family revealed Tuesday evening that Lovato is now awake and recovering. She will soon check into rehab outside of L.A., an insider told RadarOnline.com exclusively.
A source previously told RadarOnline.com she relapsed earlier this year after neglecting her recovery program, and soon spiraled out of control.
