Audrey Roloff Reveals Why She Ditched Grandfather's Birthday Party
Feb. 25 2019, Updated 11:52 a.m. ET
Audrey Roloff has explained why she didn't show up for her husband Jeremy's grandfather's birthday party this weekend.
Jeremy's dad Matt posted an Instagram photo on Sunday, July 22 of the big family reunion/birthday party in California honoring Ron Roloff turning 80.
Matt and his girlfriend Caryn Chandler were excited to attend the big event together.
However, while Jeremy and his other siblings and their significant others also attended the bash, Audrey and their daughter Ember were missing!
The picture showed all of Matt's four children were there—sons Jeremy, Zach (with wife Tori and their baby son, Jackson), and Jacob (and his fiancée Isabel), and even reclusive daughter Molly!
But Jeremy's wife Audrey and their daughter Ember were conspicuously missing and Matt wrote in a caption, “Audrey and Ember are there in spirit.”
It turns out Audrey and her 11-month-old daughter attended a friend’s wedding instead--where little Ember had a key role!
Audrey explained on Instagram last night, "Jeremy left for his grandpas birthday in California, while I stayed in Oregon with Ember because I was in my sweet friend’s wedding-and Ember got to be an honorary flower girl ?."
Matt's folks live in California and have rarely been seen on Little People, Big World.
Flame-haired wife and mom Audrey and her husband shocked fans by quitting the Roloff family show last month.
RadarOnline.com revealed the real reason they were no longer appearing on the show was so Audrey could focus on her blogging and writing her first book with Jeremy.
Audrey elaborated on that in her long Instagram update on Tuesday, July 24, noting about their relationship memoir, "We turned in our manuscript edits last week.
"That means... I had Ember all to myself the past few days with no looming work deadlines!!!"
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Ember's birth was harrowing for Audrey as she ran way past her due date. She was determined to have a natural birth, but things didn't go as planned.
On a LPBW episode, fans saw how Audrey was in pain after giving birth in the hospital and it heightened after she went home.
“I got mastitis five days after she was born. Mastitis is when the breast tissue is infected,” Audrey explained. “I wouldn’t say that I got to enjoy being a mom those first few weeks. I was in lots of pain."
Luckily, she recovered from the post-birth complications and wrote joyfully on Tuesday about motherhood, "It has been so refreshing to just spend some time on the ground with my girl (and in the pool ?she loves the water!) I am marveling at how much her personality is starting to come out lately.
"Here I am saying again (and probably later), this stage is my favorite? Can’t quite walk on her own, eating all the things, mimicking like crazy, giving slobbery kisses, sleeping like a champ, waving and clapping all the time and watching my every move!"
