Heather Locklear's terrified family hopes to keep her hospitalized for up to 30 days, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.
As RadarOnline.com reported last night, the troubled 56-year-old actress was rushed by ambulance to a medical facility near her Westlake Village, California, home after authorities received a call for an "overdose" — just hours after she was released from jail following her latest battery arrest.
Now, Locklear's loved ones are working with authorities to obtain a 5250 hold, which would ensure she would be hospitalized for 14 days and possibly longer.
"She needs enough time to detox and undergo an evaluation," an insider told RadarOnline.com, adding the family hopes to keep her in treatment for 30 days.
Though she's currently at a local Ventura County hospital, the family wants to transfer the former Melrose Place star to a larger facility.
Locklear's "overdose" emergency yesterday afternoon stemmed from the star's substance abuse and refusal to go back to treatment following her latest jail stint.
"She initially agreed to get help again. But hours later things changed, and her sober minder had to call 911," the source claimed.
Now Locklear's family hopes she'll stop the madness — for good this time.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Locklear completed two months in rehab in April following her February arrest for allegedly beating an officer. Then on June 24, cops told RadarOnline.com the "extremely intoxicated" star "punched" an officer again and "kicked" an emergency response personnel.
