Artie Lange has slammed his former boss Howard Stern again!
Troubled comedian Lange claimed his time on The Howard Stern Show from 2001 to 2010 egged on his own drug addiction.
Over Father's Day weekend, Lange paid tribute to his late father on Twitter -- but also used the platform to bash the shock jock.
"Happy Fathers Day dad. Hope ur w things u laughed with!" Lange wrote." Cousin Mike & tapes of the Howard Stern Show. U died in 1990. Stern Show changed. For good then bad. I changed too. First good. Then bad. I took care of mom. She took care of me! Stace is our hero! We survived & we love u!"
Lange, 50, tweeted at the crack of dawn on Sunday, June 17, and fans were outraged he'd attacked radio icon Stern, 64.
The backlash was strong online following Lange's post.
One fan's comment on Twitter was typical: "Even bashes Howard in his Fathers Day message. Your future's bleak if you won't leave the past. Be well."
Lange then explained that he wasn't necessarily slamming Stern, but himself for getting too comfortable on the show.
"Ur looking way too into this Howard stuff. In this tweet I bashed myself," Lange wrote. "I meant it got bad when I got on the show! And I’m saying my dad loved the show! Howard is not the reason I’m a junky & my career is actually great right now which makes no sense but it’s a good thing."
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Lange was sentenced to 4 years probation, 50 hours community service, and an outpatient rehab program for his heroin and cocaine possession case.
The wisecracking comic has long battled drug addiction and was forced off the show in 2010 following several failed attempts at rehabilitation.
Lange's June 17 Twitter thoughts on Stern comprise another episode in their ongoing feud since he left his radio show.
In an interview with the Daily Beast earlier this year, Lange talked about his drug abuse throughout the years and how Stern didn’t necessarily discourage him from using.
“You need coke. You’re a lot better on it.” Stern jokingly said to Lange on his first ever appearance on the show. “Go out and get into more trouble, and we’ll have you back on.”
Lange said he “knows” Stern encouraged him but he couldn’t blame him or “anyone else” for his addiction.
“Howard’s genius is seeing which way the wind is blowing in society and acting accordingly,” Lange said at that time.
However, he claimed Stern didn’t stop the rest of his posse from creating a “toxic” environment for the addict.
Since Lange left the show, he admitted to having a strained relationship with Stern that has worsened over time. He said the radio star even banned all of his employees from contacting him.
But according to a RadarOnline.com insider, Stern never fully recovered after having to let Lange go.
“When Artie left, Howard kind of felt betrayed in a sense,” the source told RadarOnline.com. “Like Artie had all of these opportunities and all of these chances, but he let his addiction get to him.”
