"Hard to imagine he'll not soon return with new stories to tell, new foods to share."

When he returned before announcing the commercial break, Cooper appeared close to tears.

On Sunday night, he will give an introduction to CNN's previously scheduled new episode of Parts Unknown.

Talking about the show Bourdain said: "People are telling you a story when they give you food.

"And if you don't accept the food, you are in many cultures, whether rural Arkansas or Vietnam, you're rejecting the people."
