Tennessee resident, Sharista Giles, has died, three years after giving birth to a baby boy while in a coma.
According to her heartbroken family’s Facebook post, the young mother passed away this Monday, May 21.
“This saddens my heart to say but we all know she is no longer suffering . Sharista Giles gained her wings this morning. She has suffered for 3 1/2 years now she is rejoicing with Our Heavenly Father. She can walk, talk, sing, dance, and put that Beautiful Smile back on again. RIP. .. OUR SWEET ANGEL..... WE LOVE YOU BABY GIRL AND YOU ARE GREATLY MISSED! AND WE WILL MAKE SURE YOUR BABY BOY WILL BE LOVED AND TAKEN CARE OF. FLY HIGH AND SPREAD YOUR WINGS,” Giles’ family wrote in their post.
The sad death came almost four years after the then-pregnant woman was severely injured in a 2014 car crash. As RadarOnline.com has learned, Giles gave birth to her son Leighton while still in a coma, and remained paralyzed until 2015, when she opened her eyes.
According to various reports, Giles continued to open her eyes and mumble a few words for three years, but never made a full recovery.
