The deaths of a former Playboy playmate and her 7-year-old son have officially been ruled a murder-suicide.

Stephanie Adams, 46, jumped out of a Gotham Hotel penthouse window in New York City on May 18 with her seven-year-old son, Vincent. The two hit a second-floor balcony and died instantly.

According to police reports, the mother and child both died of multiple blunt impact injuries, with the boy suffering injuries to the head, neck, torso and limbs. Stephanie’s death was deemed suicide, while Vincent’s was called a homicide.

The deaths come on the heels of a vicious custody battle between Adams and her estranged husband, Charles Nicolai, who is the owner of Wall Street Chiropractic & Wellness.

According to People, Stephanie wanted to take her son to Europe to be with her new boyfriend, but a judge allegedly said she could not take the boy outside the country without the court’s permission.

Stephanie’s relationship with her ex was contentious, to say the least. Law enforcement officials say they had to visit the couple’s home several times over the past few months, as their arguments became heated.

The relationship was so toxic that an agreement was made to meet at a designated police station to hand over their son.
