Artie Lange Hospitalized For Emergency Surgery, Dumped By Podcast Days Before Sentencing

Artie Lange has been hospitalized for emergency surgery only days before he is expected to appear in court for sentencing on drug possession charges, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Lange's lawyer Frank Arleo exclusively told RadarOnline.com that the troubled comedian had "surgery for a nasal infection," and may not be released from the hospital in time for his scheduled hearing.
As of Tuesday, Essex County Clerk Andrew Lyala told RadarOnline.com the hearing is still on for Friday, May 18.
The health crisis comes after the troubled comic was let go from his own podcast, The Anthony and Artie Show.
On Monday evening, Lange's producer, Keith Maresca, took to Twitter to reveal he visited his friend in the hospital — and that he would no longer be on the podcast.
Lange began co-hosting the show with Anthony Cumia last September. But ongoing health and drug addiction struggles caused him to miss many tapings.
As RadarOnline.com reported, the 50-year-old was arrested on March 12, 2017 and charged for possession of heroin, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested for missing too many court dates relating to the charges in December, and promptly checked in to rehab. Though he's on the road to recovery. Lange faces three to five years in prison for his alleged crimes.
He's also faced many health scares in the past. In the summer of 2017, Lange said he almost died after collapsing during a gig and undergoing emergency surgery for a nose and chest infection.
