Suge Knight will soon go on trial for murder and wants Casey Anthony's attorney Jose Baez to represent him, according to The Blast.

Legal eagle Baez was credited for getting controversial Anthony acquitted after she was accused of murdering her daughter, Caylee, 2. The 2011 verdict of "not guilty" shocked the nation and made Baez famous—and a most wanted defense attorney.

The Blast sources say Knight's team recently reached out to Baez about the possibility of defending him.

Baez is also known for successfully representing Aaron Hernandez, clearing him of a double murder charge from a 2012 drive-by shooting. Hernandez was already serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd. Days after Baez got him off on the other charge, the former football player hanged himself in prison.

Sources told The Blast that Knight's family thinks that Baez has what it takes to help prove the rap titan's case, and present their defense that Knight was acting in self-defense when, in 2015 he allegedly drove his truck through the parking lot of Compton, California's Tam's burger restaurant and ran over Terry Carter, 55, and another man.

Carter later died and the other guy was injured.

Prosecutors claim Knight hit the gas on his truck and intentionally mowed down the men over a business feud.

Knight has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Both Knight, 52, and Baez are enthusiastic about the idea of teaming up, a source said; Baez reportedly feels that Knight has a good case.

"The deal is not fully inked yet, partly because Baez is based out of Florida and would need to logistically figure out how to move his team out to Los Angeles for a long time as they research and prep to defend Suge properly," the insider said.

Knight recently was rushed out of the L.A. County jail to be hospitalized at USC Medical Center but was back in jail on Friday night, April 6.

The reason for his medical scare isn't known but he's previously complained about blood clots.

The Death Row Records CEO was given a court appointed attorney after his former counsel were busted for allegedly attempting to bribe witnesses.

Knight is scheduled to be back in court at the end of April—will Baez be by his side?
