‘He’s Not Clean!’ Maci Bookout Insists Ryan Relapsed After Pregnancy Announcement
Maci Bookout believes her troubled baby daddy Ryan Edwards relapsed around the time his wife announced their pregnancy. In a Teen Mom OG sneak peek for this week’s episode, Bookout dropped the drug bombshell to her mother Sharon.
“I thought Ryan wasn’t about that life right now,” a shocked Sharon said when her daughter told her the pregnancy news. “Maybe a new baby is what Ryan needs.”
Bookout responded, “Maybe… Maybe not. I feel like if this doesn’t do the trick then absolutely nothing will.”
Her mom replied, “He’s 30. Ryan’s going to do what Ryan wants to do. Babies and wives and baby mamas aren’t going to do it for him.”
When Sharon asked if Edwards, who shares son Bentley, 9, with Bookout passed a drug test, she responded, “No.”
“If he were clean he would take a drug test,” Sharon said, as Bookout replied, “My people know people… he’s not clean.”
Edwards was arrested on March 27 for petition to revoke, which means breaking probation, for a March 2017 simple possession of heroin arrest.
Edwards went to rehab in May after he was caught on camera driving high to his wedding to wife Mackenzie.
A source close to the cast previously told Radar, “They don’t think he’s in his right mind because they believe he’s still using. She’s pretty much had enough.”
Bookout and her husband Taylor McKinney filed protection orders against Edwards on March 23.
Bookout alleged, “He has left voicemail messages threatening to show up at my house and take my son. He has made threats to show up and hurt me if I don’t answer my phone.”

She claimed during her son’s baseball game in May 2017, Edwards “showed up under the influence of heroin and got in my face, yelling and threatening to hurt me.”
“His behavior and actions are getting worse,” she claimed. “I am fearful for my three children and myself, and what he may do, based on his threats.”
She asked that Bentley and her children with McKinney, Jayde, 2, and Maverick, 1, also be protected under the order.
In McKinney’s protection order, he chillingly wrote, “He called me on Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 and threatened to show up at my house and put a bullet in my head."
The restraining orders were temporarily granted until their court hearing on May 21.
Teen Mom OG airs Mondays at 9/8c on MTV.
