Joel Silver Blames Assistant For Her Death During Jennifer Aniston Vacation
Powerful producer Joel Silver is blaming his former personal assistant Carmel Musgrove for her own death.
Musgrove, 28, died after a trip to Bora Bora with Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux went horribly wrong back in August, 2015.
According to documents obtained by The Blast website, the 'Lethal Weapon' producer says 28-year-old Musgrove's death was caused by her 'own negligence' after her body was discovered floating in a lagoon near the Four Seasons Resort in Bora Bora back in 2015.
The assistant's family sued Silver, his production company and his personal chef Martin Herrold claiming they were responsible for her death.
They allege that Silver and Herrold facilitated her with drugs and alcohol during the honeymoon celebration of now-split couple Aniston and Theroux.
The family also accused Silver of overworking the girl during the trip in 2015.
Local authorities determined Musgrove had drowned due to overconsumption of alcohol and cocaine, plus fatigue and heat stroke.

However, in documents filed on April 19, 2018, Silver is hitting back.
"The Matrix" producer says Musgrove's actions are what caused her death, insisting he played no part.
He argues that although he hasn't yet completed a thorough investigation of the facts and circumstances around her death, he believes his former personal assistant did not exercise "ordinary care" for herself while on the tropical isle.
The multi millionaire producer also claims that because the death technically occurred on a work trip, the lawsuit is barred from seeking damages against him personally.
