Sridevi Kapoor – the woman known as the first female Bollywood superstar – died this past Saturday inside her hotel room. As RadarOnline.com has learned, the 54-year-old drowned inside her Dubai suite's bathtub after losing consciousness.

According to CNN, Kapoor was in the city for a family wedding, when she suddenly passed.

The death of the beloved Indian dancer – who was better known as Sridevi – was marked as an accident by local police, and the case will be transferred to Dubai's prosecution office.

"Following the completion of post-mortem analysis, #DubaiPolice today stated that the death of Indian actress #Sridevi occurred due to drowning in her hotel apartment's bathtub following loss of consciousness," shared Dubai Police on Twitter.

After Sridevi Kapoor's tragic death, various fans and loved ones took to social media to voice their grief.

"I have no words," tweeted actress Priyanka Chopra. "Condolences to everyone who loved #Sridevi. A dark day. RIP."

India's president also shared on Twitter that he was devastated by the news, and that Kapoor's passing had "left millions of fans heartbroken."
