Anna Wintour To Skip 'Vanity Fair' Oscar Gala As New Editor Steps In
Anna Wintour will skip the yearly Vanity Fair party, which is now being hosted by the magazine's new Editor-in-Chief, Radhika Jones.
As RadarOnline.com has learned, the powerful Condé Nast director will be missing the ritzy gala to attend fashion shows in Paris.
According to Page Six, it was speculated that Wintour, 68, would take charge of the star-filled party after longtime VF editor, Graydon Carter's retirement last December. Neither Wintour nor Carter, however, will be in attendance.
Carter told the NYT that he will be out of the country for six months, as he is currently living in France.
"The party will be pretty much the same as last year and the year before," a source told the outlet. "Same venue. Same team organizing it."
As RadarOnline.com readers know, reports recently claimed Wintour gave Jones the stink eye when she came into a meeting wearing colorful tights covered in cartoon foxes. An insider close to the situation, however, stated otherwise. While Wintour – who has often been falsely labeled as an industry "mean girl" – has always been known for her elegant and conservative style, she reportedly doesn't have any issues with her new colleague's wacky fashion.

WWD has also assured that there is no beef between the two fashionistas. In fact, it reported that Condé Nast’s artistic director hosted a dinner toasting the new VF editor and sent "all guests home with fox-patterned hosiery: tights for the women; socks for the men," as a sort of inside joke.
