The thirteen children held captive by their parents in the house of horrors did not know how to brush their teeth! As RadarOnline.com has learned from PEOPLE reports, the Turpin kids lacked basic knowledge of life after so many years of neglect. Now, the Turpin kids are receiving physical and emotional treatment, while each of their troubled parents remain on $12 million bail.

As RadarOnline.com readers know, David and Louise Turpin held their 13 children hostage inside their California home for an unknown number of years. They fed them once a day and let them shower once a year. The kids wore matching outfits and were not allowed to use the bathroom, so many had to sit on their own filth for months at a time as they were chained to their beds.

Authorities claimed the kids were extremely malnourished but showed positive signs of recovery after their miraculous rescue.
