Pregnant Joanna Gaines Demands $150,000 An Hour To Do Legal Deposition
Is Joanna Gaines' time more precious now that she's pregnant again?
Joanna, who just announced she is expecting her fifth child with her husband and Fixer Upper co-star Chip, has demanded $150,000 an hour to be deposed as part of an ongoing furniture lawsuit, The Blast has reported.
Joanna was reportedly dragged into a legal battle, in which she isn't a plaintiff or defendant, involving a line of furniture that was to be sold under Joanna and her husband Chip's furniture line, Magnolia Home.
Standard Furniture Manufacturing Company and LF Products are at legal odds over a disagreement over the quality of the raw material that was used on the furniture made for the line. Joanna allegedly discovered the furniture was made with a different type of material than what was agreed upon and is now wanted for a deposition.
But the reality TV wife has said in legal docs obtained by The Blast that the request is burdensome and unnecessary since she isn't a party to the suit. She said she was willing to answer questions via a written deposition.
According to the court papers, when LF Products contacted Joana's lawyer, he told them she would not search for the documents requested unless they reimbursed her for her time to the tune of a whopping $150,000 an hour!
The lawyer said Joanna believes that is a fair rate because she has been offered that amount for an appearance in the past.
Now LF Products is asking the judge to order her to sit for a deposition; there's no ruling yet.
