A married 43-year-old teacher has been accused of sexually assaulting a teenage former student, after adopting him and taking him into her home, RadarOnline.com can reveal.
According to recent court documents, the teen “believed that the purpose of her taking him in was to eventually make sex a part of their relationship.”
The two were seemingly “very close” when Rayna Culver was the teen’s teacher at Rivera Middle School.
The New Jersey instructor reportedly legally adopted the victim after he was kicked out of a relative’s home in December of 2015.
Last year in June, the teen came forward claiming that his former teacher had begun touching him inappropriately and undressing him. After that, their sexual relationship began.
“After that first incident, they would engage in sex often,” the teen stated in the court documents.

He claimed he and Culver had sexual relations “almost every day over several months.”
He then claimed he had tried to end the unsettling relationship but was afraid “that if he told her to stop she would get mad and kick him out of the house.”
Finally he came clean during a text conversation with Culver, in which he said he didn’t want to have sex anymore, but “she made it clear that she did not want it to stop.”
Culver’s attorney, Robin Lord, has claimed the shocking accusations are “completely fabricated and made up.”
Authorities have now been given access to the disturbing text conversations.
The still-married teacher was arrested in May and charged with second-degree sexual assault, as well as second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
