Meghan Markle Taking Time Off Amid Prince Harry Relationship Backlash

After being trolled online for her budding relationship with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle is reportedly taking a break from the show Suits, asking her bosses in Toronto for a week off because she has “something important to do.”

According to Page Six, the actress, who has starred on the USA network show for six years, is struggling with her sudden fame.

“She comes across as just a regular girl,” a source told the publication, “She’s stunning in person, but not everyone knew who she was. And she’s everywhere now.”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Prince Harry came forward to confirm their relationship on Tuesday, taking it upon himself to defend his new girlfriend against online bullying in a passionate statement released through Kensington Palace.

"The past week has seen a line crossed. Harry's girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment," the statement read. "Some of this has been very public — the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments."

"It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm," the statement continued. "He knows commentators will say this is 'the price she has to pay' and that 'this is all part of the game.' He strongly disagrees. This is not a game — it is her life and his."

News first broke of the couple's relationship when Prince Harry was caught jetting off to Canada last week for an ultra-secret visit with Markle.
