Mark Wahlberg is at the top of his game, not only in peak physical fitness but in his acting career, in business and golf! In the May issue of Men's Fitness, the Deepwater Horizon star revealed his secrets for staying in shape, which includes his new venture in the supplement industry, during a round of golf.
The 44-year-old just launched Performance Inspired, a natural supplement line, including protein and pre-workout products, with partner and former GNC exec Tom Dowd. Mark says the products are intended not just for athletes and bodybuilders, but for regular guys looking to “build muscle and burn fat,” but in a “clean” way.
"This is an all-natural product, " he said. "I've always been adamant about being natural, no matter what I was doing—training, putting on weight, losing weight."
Wahlberg definitely knows a thing or two about putting on weight and toning up quickly, as he's done for films like Transformers, The Fighter and Patriots Day. But despite grueling workouts, the dad of four knows how to eat well, which comes as no surprise since he and his famous siblings, Paul and Donnie, own Wahlburgers. The burger chain, also the subject of an A&E reality show of the same name, is set to open more locations this year.
However, keeping the balance in his career, fitness and family is what keeps Mark going.
"I never wanted to lead a boot camp type of existence. I wanted to be able to work out, eat right, have fun, drink wine, and eat burgers," he admitted.
