Parents to 19 Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are solving their family's sex scandal crisis with…more babies?

The Christian couple is considering adopting a child, totaling their brood to 20, Life & Style has reported.

"They've been mulling it over for a long time, and they feel the time is right to get legal advice and get the process underway," a source told the magazine. "They're looking to adopt a child in the New Year."

Though the matriarch, 49, who suffered a miscarriage in 2011, has exhibited intolerance of other religions and sexualities, the insider insisted the parents would welcome a child of any color.

"Michelle says she doesn't care if they adopt a boy or a girl, or what ethnicity the child is," the source said. "She says she just wants to help a child's life."

But the Duggars may have ulterior motives to their baby plans. The family's squeaky-clean Christian reputation was smeared by news that oldest son Josh, 27, had molested five minor females, including at least two of his sisters, as a teenager. TLC abruptly canceled Duggar reality show 19 Kids And Counting.

Just three months later, the father of four and "family values" activist confessed to cheating on wife Anna, 28, and becoming addicted to pornography. In the following weeks, porn star Danica Dillon, 28, claimed Josh paid her for rough, violent sex.

An adoption could certainly help clean up the family's image, and take focus away from Josh's sick, sad behaviors.

"They're a desperate family," a source revealed, "who want to stay in the spotlight."
