"Marriage is really hard. It drains you," Kristen Taekman told OK! Magazine in July 2014. Little did she know that things were about to get a whole lot worse! Last month, Josh's name was linked to an Ashley Madison account — and has learned that despite his excuse, the news crushed his wife.

"Kristen is having a really hard time accepting what is happening," an insider close to the couple says. "Josh has broken her heart and she is reacting like anyone would."

On August 24, it was reported that Josh spent thousands of dollars on the adulterous website and made a total 62 paid transactions. Though he initially denied the report, he later came clean.

"I signed up for the site foolishly and ignorantly with a group of friends and I deeply apologize for any embarrassment or pain I have brought to my wife and family," he said. "We both look forward to moving past this and getting on with our lives."

But insiders said that for Kristen, it isn't that simple.

"Josh has torn Kristen's world apart," the insider says. "While he publicly apologized for his actions, he still is guilty. He has been lying for this long and then tried to lie about it again at first. All of this is completely embarrassing for Kristen."

Throughout their first season on Housewives, Kristen and Josh's relationship was under a microscope as fans called him "douche bag" for his seemingly insensitive manners towards his wife.

Kristen came to Josh's defense, claiming that they are "a lot stronger than a reality show."

But can this couple overcome his latest scandal?

"Kristen will never quit her marriage because she has children with Josh," a source tells Radar. "But everyone knows about Kristen and Josh's marital problems… and at this point, Kristen is devastated."
