Kyle Richards begged and pleaded to keep her job on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — and it worked! A source close to production for Bravo's hit show tells exclusively that "as of right now, Kyle has not been asked to leave Real Housewives."

As reported, producers reevaluated her role when it was announced that she would be producing a new show on TV Land with sisters Kathy Hilton and Kim Richards. But the insider said they ultimately decided she could stay on the show that made her famous.

"If Kyle does decide to leave to focus on this new project full time, she will be leaving on her own accord," the source tells

"Essentially, she will be quitting the show, rather than getting fired."

The 46-year-old was on the chopping block after the drama that ensued following Kim's recent arrest while intoxicated at the Beverly Hills Polo Lounge on April 16. But Kyle was quick to do damage control.

The source previously said, "Kyle has talked to Andy Cohen and is reaching out to other network executives to lobby them to keep her on the show."

If Kyle does return, it will be her sixth season on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
