Bethenny Frankel didn't just want a six-figure paycheck for her much-hyped return to The Real Housewives of New York City. RadarOnline.com has learned she also demanded final approval of any footage that would feature her — and Bravo agreed!
Bravo needed Frankel to reprise her role on the ratings challenged reality show, and she used that to her advantage, an insider told Radar.
"Bethenny wanted control over any footage she was included in," said the source. "She didn't want to come across as pathetic in the aftermath of her failed talk show, and doomed marriage. Bravo balked at first, but realized Bethenny wouldn't come back without it."
A seven-figure check was the cherry on top to persuade Frankel to return to the reality show that helped launch her career. She's since cashed in on her TV notoriety with a line of products and a short-lived talk show.
Meanwhile, Countess Luann de Lesseps recently revealed on Watch What Happens Live, that viewers will "be surprised" over the chemistry the returning Frankel has — or doesn't have — with the current cast.
"She gets along with people you wouldn't expect her to get along with and hates people that you wouldn't expect," the Real Housewives of New York City royal said. "It's exciting to watch her work it with all the girls and we talk a lot about the old days, too, so I think you're going to see some of the moments from the old days, I hope. "
The Real Housewives of New York will air on Bravo on April 7.
