America’s Next Top Model finalist Renee Diane Alway is trading the fashion runway for the prison yard.
RadarOnline.com can reveal that that a judge has sentenced the 28 year old, who appeared on Cycle 8 of Tyra Banks’ reality show in 2007, to 12 years in prison on criminal charges that include breaking into a Palm Springs, Calif., home last year.
According to one report, Alway pled guilty to four burglary counts, a misdemeanor count of identity theft and one count each of vehicle theft and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Alway was ordered to pay her victims over $58,000.
The judgment against Alway could have been a lot worse. The once-aspiring model was charged with over a dozen other counts, including resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance, but they were dismissed in a plea deal.
Alway has been in custody ever since she was arrested in the summer of 2013 after someone called police to report a “suspicious female” in a Palm Springs neighborhood. Responding officers found Alway hiding in the garage of a home in the area.
