It’s Official! Giada De Laurentiis’ Husband Files For Divorce — Read The Explosive Documents

That was fast. Just one day after Giada De Laurentiis announced that her marriage was over, RadarOnline.com has learned that her husband, Todd Thompson, filed for divorce.

Thompson cites “irreconcilable differences” in the documents filed Tuesday in L.A. According to the papers, the couple have been separated since July 15.

The papers note that Thompson “has not determined the nature and extent” of the couple’s property, and “will amend this Petition when he determines those things.”

He asked for joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, Jade Marie, 6, and asked that he not be forced to pay alimony to the TV chef.

De Laurentiis announced the separation Monday in a surprise Facebook post: “After an amicable separation since July, Todd and I have decided to end our marriage,” the 44-year-old TV personality said. “Although our decision to separate comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus on the future and overwhelming desire for our family's happiness has given us the strength to move forward on separate, yet always connected paths.

The , who wed Thompson in May 2003, thanked loved ones for their “support in this time of change."
