Catelynn’s Secret Pain: ‘Teen Mom’ Star Lowell Reveals Her Battle With Depression And Anxiety Days After Robin Williams’ Tragic Suicide
Days after beloved comedian Robin Williams committed suicide following a battle with severe depression, Teen Mom star Catelynn Lowell revealed her own experience with mental illness.
“It’s not a joke,” the pregnant 22-year-old posted on Instagram August 14. “I struggle with depression/anxiety on the daily. We are not alone…there is help out in the world! #listentoeachother.”
She then attached some inspirational quotes.
“Depression, anxiety, and panic attacks are not a sign of weakness. They are signs of having tried to remain strong for so long. 1 in 3 of us go through depression, anxiety or panic attacks at least once in our life….Let those who struggle know they are never alone,” Tyler Baltierra’s fiancée posted.
Despite her secret struggle, Lowell has achieved so much: After growing up in a broken home, the Michigan native went on to graduate high school and is now an adoption advocate and motivational speaker around the country. (She and Baltierra gave up their first child, daughter Carly, for adoption in 2009).
