Real Housewives of New York star Ramona Singer is willing to take back her husband Mario — at the center of cheating claims — despite cops being called to their home after she alleged he tried to choke her in their Southampton mansion, RadarOnline.com has exclusively been told.
Authorities reportedly responded to the couple's beachside mansion to quell a domestic dispute between the two, where Ramona said that Mario had choked her.
The New York Post said that the couple has quietly separated and are separately dating — Mario has been linked, specifically, to socialite Kasey Dexter, while Ramona has been tied to a man named Travis Millard — but have stopped short of filing for divorce.
However, a source told RadarOnline.com exclusively that the 57-year-old "would take Mario back in a heartbeat ... she depends on Mario for everything.
"Despite being publicly humiliated by him, Ramona doesn't want a divorce. She has begged Mario to break it off, but he refused. It's really sad because Mario is telling their friends how desperate Ramona is to get him back."
Ramona -- who offered cops “a glass of wine” when they arrived at the posh Hamptons home -- initially accused Mario of choking her to police, but multiple other sources shot down the allegations. No charges were pressed in the incident.
The couple -- who have one child, college age daughter Avery -- have continually denied marital problems and infidelities, but this incident might push them to a point where they no longer play nice in public.
Just last week, a smiling Ramona and co-star Sonja Morgan were spotted out together for a girls' night out in New York City. The two attended a wine dinner at Top Chef star David Burke’s restaurant at Bloomingdale’s. During the dinner, Ramona opted to sit back and enjoy glasses of her own wine, surrounded by her closest girlfriends, including Morgan, enjoying their drinks and man-free time.
"Ramona hasn't confided to ANY of her friends," our sources tell us. "She is in denial about what is really going on with Mario.
"It's really sad, and her friends are growing more concerned about her."
