Ann Curry won't be reporting for NBC during the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, as the TODAY Show beat Good Morning America in the ratings race last week, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

The former co-anchor of TODAY "will be staying behind in New York. With her contract almost up at the Peacock network, there just isn't a huge priority to put Ann on a plane to Russia. Network bosses want to focus on the future of the news division, and Ann isn't going to be a part of that," a source told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

During the Summer Olympics in London 2012, Ann Curry stonewalled former colleague, Matt Lauer's attempt to make small talk during an appearance on TODAY, after she was fired.

Meanwhile, TODAY beat Good Morning America in the key 25-54 demographic and the number one morning news program in the 18-49 group.

Another source tells us, "TODAY is looking forward to broadcasting from Sochi, and giving the viewers the best coverage. It's a very exciting time to be a part of TODAY.....morale is very high, and everyone is working extremely well together. The vision of executive producer Don Nash, who took over from Jim Bell several months ago, is the reason why TODAY is closing in on GMA. Everyone is hopeful GMA will soon be in second place."
