Michelle Pfeiffer has made a startling revelation. The Batman Returns and The Fabulous Baker Boys star was once in a cult !
She was 20 and had just landed in Hollywood when Pfeiffer recalls coming under the influence of a couple she first thought of basically as personal trainers.
"They were very controlling. I wasn't living with them but I was there a lot and they were always telling me I needed to come more. I had to pay for all the time I was there, so it was financially very draining." she told The Sunday Telegraph.
"They believed that people in their highest state were breatharian," she added, explaining the belief that food is unnecessary and sunlight can provide all the nourishment the body needs.
Fortunately, Pfeiffer then began dating Peter Horton -- they later married -- and he had a small role in a film about cults.
She was helping him with his research and said that's when it clicked. "I was in one!" She immediately worked her way out.

Pfeiffer, who has been wed to writer/producer David E. Kelley for the past two decades, is a strict vegan, a practice that ironically began when she was in the cult.
