The battle continues between Tamra Barney and her first husband, Darren Vieth, who just served the Real Housewives of Orange County star with a cease and desist, threatening legal action if the reality TV star doesn't shut her trap, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Darren's attorney, Peter R. Nasmyth, issued the legal letter on Wednesday in an effort to "resolve a series of disturbing incidents" in which he claims Tamra made "several defamatory statements" about Darren via Twitter and other social media networks on or about July 16-18.

"First, Mr. Vieth demands that you immediately refrain, case and desist from issuing further defamatory and libelous correspondence of this type," the attorney writes.

"Second, Mr. Vieth demands that you issue an immediate retraction of the libelous statements, and forward the retraction to each and every individual or entity that received publication of the libelous material."

It appears as though at time of publication, Tamra has deleted any and all tweets the legal letter points to referring to her ex, Darren.

"Failure to take immediate action will result in Mr. Vieth exploring all available remedies including the filing of a complaint for damages against you in Superior Court," the letter threatens.

Darren's attorney describes the feud and correspondence between Tamra and her ex as "vitriolic" and says the newlyweds word defy "the bounds of reasonableness and professionalism."

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Darren says that Tamra's claims of two attempted suicides are false.

“Tamra is a liar, a cheater and a bad mother to our son, Ryan, and she seemed to enjoy constant drama in her life because it lead to attention,” Darren, 48, told Radar. “I couldn’t believe that she blamed our failed marriage for her first suicide attempt.

“Tamra usually never tells the entire story, and this time is no different.”

In fact, Darren claims Tamra is such a liar that he's challenged her to a take a lie-detector test -- and he provided damaging court papers proving she gave up custody of their son to him in 1995.

“I came forward because she blamed me for her suicide attempt — like I’m a bad husband that makes women want to commit suicide," Darren said.

“I told her don’t want to be part of her Housewife Hollywood stuff. I never tell anyone she’s my ex wife. All I want is to have a relationship with my son and she spoiled that."

Responding to her ex, Tamra said it was “all trash” — rejecting that she’d cheated on him, was a bad mother to Ryan and had surrendered physical custody of him.

As for the allegedly libelous social media messages, Darren is not backing down.

"Be advised that this office will require a full retraction of all statement included in your social media posts concerning Mr. Vieth for the month of July 2013," the cease and desist reads.

"In addition to the above, we will require your written assurances that you will forever refrain from continuing the pattern of disparagement of which you have previously engaged."

Darren's attorney gave a deadline of August 9, 2013.
