Jenelle Evans was arrested for possession of heroin and assault and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that she may be facing more than two years in jail if convicted of the felony charges.
The troubled Teen Mom star was arrested with her husband Courtland Rogers on April 23 but the case was continued in the North Carolina court on Tuesday.
“We are waiting for her to be indicted for a felony,” her attorney Dustin Sullivan told Radar.
“
If she is convicted the sentencing guidelines could be 25 months maximum.”
Her next court date is July 1 and her lawyer said that he expects the grand jury to indict her for the felony either before then or shortly thereafter.
The 21-year-old has insisted that she is innocent of the charges, and a source close to her previously told Radar that Jenelle believes the whole situation was Courtland’s fault.
“Jenelle is going to fight these charges because she wasn’t responsible — Courtland was,” the source said.
Courtland remains in jail because he was on probation when he was arrested so he now has a $50,000 secure bond that he has been unable to pay.
