Miley Cyrus is flat out denying that there’s trouble in paradise.
The former Hannah Montana star took to Twitter Wednesday to slam reports that her engagement to hunky Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth is off; she also announced she’s taking a break from social media. (She has 11 million followers on Twitter.)
"I am so sick of LA and sick of the lies that come with it," she wrote. "I didn't call off my wedding. Taking a break from social media. #draining"
She later tweeted: “not discussing anything but my music from now on.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the upcoming March 18 cover of Us Weekly trumpets the headline "Miley & Liam: Wedding Is Off!"
The magazine claims that a source close to the couple said the engagement is over.
“Liam and Miley are done,” the insider reportedly told Us Weekly. “Miley put her career on hold to spend all her time on Liam. Now that she’s back recording her fourth album, he’s not happy. She says she’s over it.”
But is it work that is really the supposed cause of their strain, or is it the rumored other women in the relationship?
On Oscar weekend Miley, 20, and Liam, 23, hit up multiple Hollywood parties – just not with each other.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Star magazine was first to break the news that Liam was spotted hanging out with January Jones, 35, at the Chateau Marmont where “they even kissed,” and left the party together in the same car and went to a private house party!
January and Liam were “openly making out” at the party, Star reported.
During the same weekend, Miley was partying solo at the Mario Testino bash, and then she took her mom Tish Cyrus to the Elton John AIDS Foundation party in West Hollywood on Oscar night.
One source says this is a “rough patch” in their relationship and that Miley’s extreme hair cut and wild ways of dressing are also not helping the pair.
“Liam fell in love with how free spirited she is, but now he’s struggling to understand this transformation.”
