Billy Baldwin may be a Hollywood star who lives on a massive estate in the wealthy Santa Barbara enclave of Montecito, but the actor is still a Massapequa, New York boy at heart.
So with his hometown still suffering in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, joined 250 volunteers who gave up their Thanksgiving morning to put together care packages for the needy.
Baldwin led the troops in the warehouse of Santa Barbara-based Direct Relief International, where its Direct Relief USA division put together 1,000 packages containing everything from soap, shampoo and toothpaste to laundry detergent and baby wipes that are being shipped on Friday into the hard hit area.
The Hawaii Five-O costar was joined DRI CEO Thomas Tighe and the volunteers -- including Depeche Mode founder Martin Gore -- for the event.
