Uma Thurman narrowly avoided what could have been a nasty accident while carrying her newborn baby in New York City Friday after she tripped on a tarp being held by a worker trying to help her leave the back door of a hotel.
The 42-year-old actress was trying to quickly exit the building and had her one-month-old daughter in a baby sling attached to her body.
Uma’s foot got tangled in a tarp the worker was holding up to shield her from photographers.
As she lurched forward with one hand cradling her baby and the other trying to get her balance, the man grabbed them both to avoid disaster.
Uma looked understandably relieved to make it to the waiting car safely.
The little girl, whose name has not yet been revealed, is Uma’s third child but her first with businessman boyfriend Arpad Busson. She has two other kids from her marriage to Ethan Hawke, Maya, 13, and Levon, 10.
