The star-studded Independent Spirit Awards turned out to be a very successful afternoon for Michelle Williams and the movie The Artist.

The celebrated awards ceremony saw the silent film walk away with the best feature award and the movie’s actor Jean Dujardin also won the best male lead.

Seth Rogen hosted the event, which took place Saturday in Santa Monica.

Michelle Williams added another trophy to her mantel after winning best female lead for her role in My Week With Marilyn.

Trophies also went to Shailene Woodley and Christopher Plummer for their supporting parts in The Descendants and Beginners.

When she took the stage to accept her award Williams joked about how she wore “her own clothes” and “cut her own hair” when she came to the ceremony for the first time 10 years ago.

However she looked picture perfect on the night dressed in a Louis Vuitton ensemble and Fendi shoes.

It was a very fashionable affair for other celebs too, who took the opportunity to showcase all their designer clothing.

The Help beauty Jessica Chastain opted for an Armani suit instead of the typical dress and Kate Beckinsale also surprised with a DVF jumpsuit and Christina Louboutin shoes.

Zoe Saldana wore a Balmain dress teamed with nude patent leather Brian Atwwod ZENITH pumps and another stunner was Anna Kendrick in an Alexander McQueen dress.
