Legendary Hollywood Super Agent Sue Mengers Dies

She was a legend in a town of legends and put the "super" into the term super-agent. Sue Mengers, who died Saturday at her Beverly Hills home, represented an extraordinary list of stars from the 1960s into the 1990s and was a power broker for women behind-the-scenes in Hollywood.
Cher, Farrah Fawcett, Nick Nolte, Steve McQueen, Ryan O'Neal, Michael Caine, Faye Dunaway, Joan Collins, Bob Fosse, Brian De Palma and Burt Reynolds were all her clients.

So were Barbra Streisand, who served as her maid of honor when Mengers married in 1973 (she was widowed in 1996), and Ali MacGraw, who was one of a group of close friends with the pioneering agent in her final days.
Mengers was notoriously private about her age but it is believed she was 81.
