The cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills confronted fellow housewife, Taylor Armstrong, about allegations that her then husband, Russell Armstrong had physically abused her, and the emotional event was filmed for the Bravo hit television show, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Russell was found hanging from an electrical cord tied to an exposed beam at a friend's house in Los Angeles on August 15. Prior to his suicide, the network had planned on airing the shocking revelation of abuse as part of the season finale.

The ‘Housewives’ met with Taylor several months ago, before she had filed for divorce, a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. "At the beginning of the meeting Taylor refused to say that Russell hit her," the source says. "She just couldn't bring herself to say it. The other cast members pushed Taylor until she finally broke down and tearfully admitted that Russell had been physically abusive towards her.

"It was absolutely gut wrenching for Taylor to finally admit it. Taylor had major issues throughout the season with Adrienne Maloof and Lisa Vanderpump, because they didn't know what she was going through at home."

Shortly after the showdown, Taylor decided to pull the trigger on her marriage. "Taylor knew she could no longer stay in her marriage. She was physically and emotionally abused by Russell. Lisa needed to know from the housewives that they would be there for her when she decided to file, and they have been," the source reveals. "Ever since Russell's suicide, the other cast members have truly stepped-up. Bravo has also been extremely supportive of Taylor during this time."

Bravo didn't immediately respond to request for comment.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Monday nights on Bravo.
