The dancer pairings for the 13th season of Dancing with the Stars were announced on Good Morning America Wednesday, with the most notable tandem being that of Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer.
The 42-year-old daughter-turned-son of Cher and the late Sonny Bono is the first transgender contestant to appear on the ABC hit since it began in 2005. On Tuesday, Chaz told GMA she “wouldn't have even felt comfortable dancing with a male dance partner."
The other pairings are: David Arquette and Kym Johnson; Ron Artest and Peta Murgatroyd; Elisabetta Canalis and Mak Chmerkovskiy’s brother Val; Kristen Cavallari and Mark Ballas; Nancy Grace and Tristan McManus; Robert Kardashian and Cheryl Burke; Ricki Lake and Derek Hough; J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff; Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani; Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy; and Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya.
TV style guru Kressley and his dance partner Trebunskaya were present in the Big Apple for the announcements.
“Our costumes are gonna be amazing, I’m not gonna lie,” Kressley, 41, said. “We’re winning!”
Kressley admitted while he’s not a naturally gifted dancer, he’s willing to put in the time and effort to hold his own in the televised competition.
