Sarah Jessica Parker and her beautiful brood are featured in the August 2011 issue of Vogue magazine, where the 46-year-old star dishes on life after Sex and the City, how she is nothing like Carrie Bradshaw in real life, and what it is like being an ‘older parent.’
In the stunning photo spread, which was shot by famed photographer Mario Testino, the style icon models this fall’s most fabulous fashions surrounded
by her husband, actor Matthew Broderick, their son James Wilkie and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha.
Even though many of SJP’s fans associate her with her Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw, the actress insists that they are total opposites.
“Bradshaw’s life is nothing nothing like mine,” she says. “I loved playing her, and it changed my life in lots of wonderful ways, but I’m not a crazy shoe lady, I don’t think about fashion all day long, although I have a great respect for the industry. Every choice we’ve made has been different.”

Parker’s priority these days, is fulfilling her motherly duties. “We’re pretty hands-on parents,” Parker explains about why the couple don’t have in live-in help. “That’s something that’s important to both of us, and we don’t shirk it, because what’s the point in having a family if you’re not going to really participate in it, you know?”
“I guess I think there are things about it that I hope have made me a better mother,” she says about the benefits of being an older parent, one of those being patience. “I’ve had a lot of opportunities to do the things that I wanted to do, like sleep.”
The August 2011 Age Issue of Vogue, featuring Sarah Jessica Parker, will hit newsstands on July 19.
