The damage to the house adds up to a total loss, fire officials in Brentwood, Tennessee told The Tennessean newspaper.
The 49-year-old Ladies Love Country Boys singer was en route to a gig in Alaska when the blaze occurred; his wife Rhonda and their children were unharmed, and will stay at the family's second Tennessee home in Eagleville.

Adkins was slated to perform at the CMA Music Festival next Saturday.
Adkins was a finalist on season 7 of Celebrity Apprentice; he lost to Piers Morgan.
