It was the Lauren Alaina show on Wednesday's American Idol.
The Rossville, Georgia native, 16, dazzled on a night contestants had to sing songs from the past and present.
Alaina's rendition of Carrie Underwood's Flat on the Floor and The Righteous Brothers' Unchained Melody led judge Randy Jackson to say she can "sing like a bird."
"That's what you proved tonight," Jackson told her.
Judge Jennifer Lopez said Alaina's take on the ballad, popularized in the film Ghost, "was a beautiful song, sang beautifully.”
"Your voice, your singing is so ripe, it's so there," judge Steven Tyler said. "I could listen to you all night."
The remaining contestants in this year’s competition include boys Scotty McCreery, James Durbin and Jacob Lusk; and girls Alaina and Haley Reinhart.
The winner will be announced on the show’s May 26 finale.
We’ll find out who’s going home when American Idol returns Thursday on Fox at 8/7c.
