Hollywood’s hottest stars were on hand in the South of France for the opening day of the ultra-glam Cannes Film Festival Wednesday, and they were dressed to rock and shock in the best, worst and wackiest fashions.

Rachel McAdams is usually conservative on the red carpet, so it was quite a treat to see her rocking a Rihanna-style look at the premiere of Midnight in Paris.

The bigscreen babe, who was joined on the carpet by costars Owen Wilson, Lea Seydoux and beau Michael Sheen, left little to the imagination in the bright red, embroidered silk organza creation, which showed lots of skin!

Lady Gaga strolled around Cannes nearly naked during her rehearsal for a special Opening Night performance, while Salma Hayek tried out one of the latest looks from Gucci, wearing a leather dress with an awkward floral appliqué shrug at a photocall for Puss in Boots.

Luckily the sizzling hot Latina cleaned up her look for the Opening Night Ceremony, rocking a dazzling Gucci Premiere strapless gown, which was embellished in beads, sequins and crystals.
