Sometimes, you can go home again.

Jennifer Hudson, who launched her career appearing on the third season of American Idol, returned to where it all began on Thursday's edition of the Fox hit, as the Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner sang  Where You At?,  the first stellar single off  her new album, I Remember Me.

"It feels good to be home!" the Dreamgirls star said.

The  newly svelte Chicago native, 29 , -- looking  gorgeous in a black dress -- received  a huge ovation from the audience as she concluded her ballad. Also of note was Hudson's season three  fellow contestant and good friend, George Huff, serving as one of her backup singers in the number.
