The show opened with Finn finding  the image of Jesus in a grilled cheese sandwich, and it only got more in-depth from there, with storylines such as Kurt wrestling with his faith after his father suffers a heart attack, Sue's staunch opposition to prayer in school, and Finn's growing skepticism over religion after his prayers are answered.

Another hot topic addressed head-on in the episode is Kurt discussing his faith and sexuality, as the teen character ponders how God would make him gay when others tell him he's making a life choice that results  in being mocked on a daily basis.

Songs featured on Tuesday's show included Billy Joel's Only The Good Die Young, Whitney Houston’s I Look To You, The Beatles’ I Want To Hold Your Hand, Barbara Streisand's I Look To You, R.E.M.’s Losing My Religion and Joan Osbourne’s If God Was One Of Us.

Glee airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Fox.
